The idea to create Mushroom & Co. was born in autumn 2009. Whilst searching for toys in the UK it was identified that there is a lack of quality rubber toys for babies and small children on the UK market.

The majority of rubber toys are made of toxic PVC, which can include a range of chemicals (BPA, phthalates etc.) and could be potentially dangerous for a baby, while one of the ways babies explore is by putting objects inside their mouths. They examine the objects and get a very accurate image of size and shape, weight, taste, smell and temperature. Mouthing gradually decreases as babies use their hands more; this leads to the discovery of new kinds of information.

Natural rubber is a healthier option for babies and small children. The wide range of our toys are made according to EN71/1/2/3 safety standards, hand made with 100% organic natural latex rubber and hand painted with safe food grade dyes; they are completely safe to mouth and chew. The soft texture and numerous chewable parts make them perfect for soothing baby’s sore gums during teething.
